Committee Endorses a Number of Legislative Initiatives

The NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection debated the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Code on Administrative Offenses with the related legislative package in the second reading. The legislative package has not undergone substantive amendments after being adopted in the first reading. The package is designed to regulate illegal street trad e .

The draft law on Making Amendment to the Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan and the related legislative package define the conditions, requirements and restrictions for the use of public open air spaces in Yerevan: streets, sidewalks, squares, parks, groves , etc., for the purpose of cultural activity. This package was also debated in the second reading. The key rapporteur , the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan stated that the proposal presented by the deputy Sergey Bagratyan regarding the possibility of warning was adopted .

The draft law on Making Addendum to the Law on Plant Life was debated with the related package in the second reading. With regard to the current legal acts, the draft laws propose to fix authorizing norms in the RA laws on Flora, on Fauna , on Specially Protected Areas of Nature. This package was also not subject to substantive amendments after being adopted in the first reading.

It was submitted for debate by the RA Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meymaryan.

The Government proposes to reserve to governors the competence to act on behalf of the founder in joint-stock companies with the draft law on Making Amendment to the Law on Joint-Stock Companies and the related legislative package debated in the first reading. It is expected that the clarifying amendment will enable to ensure professional, efficient, transparent and accountability-based management of state-owned companies. The legislative package was introduced by the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan.

All debated bills were endorsed .

The Committee sitting was held on March 15.
